Mike German Defends Brookfield School

Michael German, AM for South Wales East, has made a public show of support for Brookfield School, by tabling the following Statement of Opinion in the Welsh Assembly:

Given the overwhelming case against closure of Brookfield Primary School, Cwmbran, the National Assembly calls on Torfaen County Borough Council to withdraw the proposed closure of the school and calls on the Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning to reject any statutory notice of closure.

A Statement of Opinion is a very effective method of gaining support for a particular issue and if it is successful it could safeguard the future of the school.

So far five other AM's have signed up to the Statement of Opinion, these include Jocelyn Davies, Mick Bates, Kirsty Williams, Peter Black and Mark Isherwood.

Michael German, "The Brookfield Action Group have made a very strong case against the closure of the school. I think their efforts deserve our support and I hope that other AM's will agree with me."

"Brookfield Primary provides an excellent educational environment, as well as having a fantastic team of staff."
