Mike German at Primary School

Mike German visited Overmonnow Primary in Monmouth. Mike German is organising a groundbreaking project in Monmouthshire to increase the uptake of school meals and boost the local economy.

The scheme plans to:

  • Educate children about healthy eating

  • Help local producers of food

  • Respond to the demand for more wholesome, less processed food

Following the fact finding visit Mr German said, "Serving fresh food in an interactive environment will lead to happy, healthy children while boosting the local economy. Learning more about the food we eat could help children avoid some of the pitfalls of modern lifestyles."

It is hoped that by bringing together the different partners this exciting project will serve as a template for similar schemes across Wales.
