Terrorist Attacks in London

3.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 7th Jul 2005

Speaking from Llangollen, where he has been attending a meeting of the Assembly's European Committee, Mike German, Assembly leader of the Liberal Democrats, said:

"My thoughts immediately go to those who have been injured and the families and friends of those who have died.

"The emergency services have done an incredible job of responding swiftly to this appalling attack.

"In Llangollen this week we have seen the joy of international co-operation with different cultures coming together and sharing their traditions.

The moral contrast between those who seek to disrupt and destroy and those who are working together to share understanding and build a brighter future could not be more stark.

"What has happened in London today is appalling and those who carried out these attacks must be brought to justice. The terrorists must not prevail."
