Mayor of Chepstow, Phil Hobson, spent his last official engagement with the Bulwark Cubs group, minutes before he was due to stand down and hand over the new mayor of the town.

Phil Hobson said, "I really wanted to spend my last duty with the next generation of the town."

The Mayor explained the role of mayor to the Bulwark Cubs and then faced questions.

"I faced a barrage of questions. The children were really excited and wanted to know every detail. I spent 45 minutes asking questions on a wide range of subjects. I was quite taken aback by their enthusiasm."

"It was great to spend some time with the cubs after having seen them spend a great weekend away at camp the other week at the Usk Agricultural College," added Mayor Hobson.
