Welsh Lib Dems - the hardest working party in the Assembly

Official Assembly figures shows that the Welsh Liberal Democrats are the most hardworking Members in the Assembly.

Statistics published by the Assembly House Committee show that Lib Dem AMs attended 91% of their committee obligations in 2004-2005, compared to Labour's attendance record of just 77.8%.

Assembly leader Mike German said: "This shows that despite being the smallest political group we are punching well above our weight and achieving as much as we can for the people of Wales.

"The Conservatives like to claim that they are the hardest-working party in the Assembly. These figures show otherwise".

Lib Dem AMs had a 100% attendance record on 6 of their committees, and 77% on regional committees, compared to just 30% from the Conservatives. The South West Wales Regional Committee saw an attendance record of just 10% from Conservative AMs.
