Mike German on WAG spin doctor appointments

Responding to an advert placed by the Assembly Government in today's Western Mail, Mike German, leader of the Welsh Lib Dems in the National Assembly said:

"If the current Assembly Government is serious about wanting another chance at governing Wales then it should be concentrating on delivery in the next year - not trying to put a gloss on its broken promises. It will be very difficult for these new spin doctors to put a shine on unfulfilled commitments such as free home care for the disabled and free breakfasts for all primary school children.

"The Labour Assembly Government seems to want to follow the Welsh Rugby Union's lead on trying to spin their way of their failings. In the WRU's case it has led to more discontent and distrust amongst the people of Wales - the same will happen with the Labour Assembly Government.

"In attempting to build a spin-squad in the year up to the Welsh General Election the Assembly Government is trying to pull the wool over the Welsh people's eyes. The Welsh public are increasingly fed up with this tired Labour Government. No amount of greater media relations and good-news stories can change that."
