Lesotho book auction raises half a cow

Mike German AM and Cathays High School have raised over £200 for their partner school in Lesotho with an auction and booksale in the National Assembly for Wales today. The event was part of an appeal to raise money to send ten cows for Molappo High School, Lesotho.

Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Leader said: "I am delighted we have managed to raise money for this good cause.

"Molappo High School needs the cows so their milk can generate a regular income to fund the many orphans who attend the school, having lost their parents to HIV/AIDS."

The auction raised £150, with eager buyers snapping up titles such as Margaret Thatcher's autobiography signed by the Labour AM's Huw Lewis and Carl Sergeant.
