Mike German AM recycles with Pontnewynydd School

Local AM Mike German made a return visit to Pontnewynydd Primary School today, to bring the pupils a bumper haul of Christmas cards and old phone books for recycling, as part of their Eco-School campaign.

Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Leader Mr German said: "Pontnewynydd School is a shining example of how everyone can work together to be more eco-friendly, and how Welsh schools can work to educate young people on the importance of recycling.

"The School won the International Green Flag for their hard work and I am proud to support them - bringing my Christmas cards and old phonebooks to help their campaign.

"I was delighted to meet the new head Westley Hughes, and of course meet the School's Eco-Council again and discuss their projects".

Mike German, visited the school before Christmas to congratulate the pupils on being awarded their Eco-Flag by ENCAMS, the organisation behind Keep Britain Tidy.

The Eco council will be meeting Mike again on the 29th January when he gives them a tour of the Senedd and shows them its environmentally friendly design features.
