Remploy Abertillery | Delighted by News that Factory Will Remain Open

12.00.00am GMT Mon 12th Nov 2007

Commenting on the news that the Abertillery Remploy factory is to remain open, local Welsh Liberal Democrat AM Mike German said:

"I'm delighted that Remploy has recognised how important their Cwmtillery factory is to the local community. I think it's essential the factory should be able to bid for more public sector contracts so that it remains viable.

"The factory has received a three-year reprieve, and I know the workers there will be relieved at the news. I met with Union leaders and Remploy bosses and I'm pleased to hear that they have listened to the arguments we have put forward.

Remploy in Abertillery provides valuable skills and income for many people in the area. I'm pleased that this will continue."
