£5m Boost for Wales Will Not Ease Tensions in 'One Wales' Agreement

12.00.00am GMT Wed 12th Mar 2008

Commenting on the extra £5m coming to the Assembly budget as a consequence of today's budget announcement,

Mike German, leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, said: "£5m over three years will do nothing to ease the tensions in the One Wales agreement.

"If they were counting on a windfall to bail out some of their unachieved pledges, then they will be as disappointed as anyone expecting a green budget, or a budget which addresses social justice."
